Disney Cruise Line to Host Vendor/Supplier Fairs for Lighthouse Point Operations

Friday, April 21 – Rock Sound, Eleuthera
Saturday, April 22 – Nassau, New Providence

Eleuthera, THE BAHAMAS (April 11, 2023): On April 21 and 22, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) will host vendor and supplier fairs in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, and Nassau, New Providence, to meet with Bahamian entrepreneurs and business owners who are interested in opportunities to provide goods and services in support of the cruise line’s newest destination at Lighthouse Point in Eleuthera. DCL is hiring businesses for a variety of goods and services including food and beverage, facilities and maintenance services, excursions, and transportation. Interested vendors and suppliers are encouraged to sign up to attend through Disney’s online portal.

“Since the beginning of this project, Disney committed to ensuring the involvement of Bahamian entrepreneurs, especially those from Eleuthera,” said Joey Gaskins, DCL regional public affairs director. “These events are part of our latest effort to include Bahamians in the economic opportunities the Lighthouse Point development will create. We’re looking forward to connecting with local entrepreneurs and business owners and sharing more about these opportunities.”

During the Vendor/Supplier Fairs, Disney teams will host business owners registered through the online portal in focused, direct one-on-one sessions. Interested business owners can register using the online portal at https://disney.starssmp.com/BahamasSignIn.aspx.

After completing the registration, additional event information, including times and locations, will be provided. A general orientation session will also be available for those who are unable to register in advance.

“We are excited to have productive discussions with business owners while we are in Eleuthera and New Providence and learn more about how Bahamian businesses can support our operations at Lighthouse Point,” said Hein Erasmus, DCL port adventures and recreation senior manager. ” We have had great success collaborating with Bahamian entrepreneurs who support our operations at Disney Castaway Cay, so we want to encourage innovative, local businesses of all sizes and stages of development to use our portal to register and to come out to learn about the opportunities available.”

Disney Cruise Line will welcome guests to a one-of-a-kind island destination at Lighthouse Point, located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, for the first time during summer 2024. Created in close collaboration with local artists and advisors, the vibrant island retreat at Lighthouse Point will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.
